Members of the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Department were called to the 5200 block of Twelve Oaks Drive at approximately 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, where there was a reported burn victim who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Upon arrival, fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames, but not before one victim had to be treated and transported to the Bayview Burn Center by a Maryland State Police Helicopter.
The initial investigation into the incident determined that the man was using gasoline to burn debris, which caused the fire to flash, causing his injuries.
No additional information was released by the fire marshal. The man's condition was unclear on Thursday afternoon.
